DESCRIPTION OF COURSES AND STRIPE “RIDE RUSH” BOOTCAMP
R620: Text Robotics and Navigation
Students will use Python to program Spike robots to enable more sophisticated movement and simple decision-making. In addition, this course delves into Spike components and core concepts such as gear ratios, preparing students for potential competition.
Key Concepts:
Common Python terms
Time-based movement
Rotation for degree-based movement
Passive push attachment
Passive pull attachments
Variables
Loops (For C While)
R640: Sensor - Based Navigation 2.0
This course delves deeper into the intricacies of autonomous robots. Students will expand their programming skills with MicroPython to create more complex algorithms for navigation, obstacle avoidance, and sensor integration. This course is essential to prepare for robotics competitions.
Key Concepts:
Writing custom functions
Passive trigger attachments
Storing power on passive attachments
Force sensor
Intro to gears
Writing State Machines
Motorized arm attachments
Distance sensor
Gyro sensor turning
Colour sensor stop
Colour sensor line follow
Equipment and Materials required (R620, R640) for schools and students
Laptop and software are mandatory for schools and students.
Robots and Robot Parts ($475US/kit) -Mandatory for schools, strongly recommended for students, but optional.
Adequate Internet Connection, Projector/TV-mandatory for schools
Robot Table-mandatory, the school can build its own table;we will provide the specifications to the school.
Robot Mat ($123US)-mandatory for school, optional for students.
Learning Management System (LMS)Access-Mandatory for school, license fee is per student, and to be determined based on regions.
T1000: Self-Driving Vehicle
In this course, students design and build a custom autonomous car from start to finish. They will learn to control motors for movement, 3D prints a chassis, and integrate key sensors such as Time-of-Flight, color sensors, and gyroscopes. With these tools, they’ll program their car with C++ for stable, precise, and intelligent navigation. By the end, students will apply all their skills to tackle real-world robotics challenges.
The curriculum integrates essential sensors, including Time-of-Flight (TOF) for distance sensing, color sensors for object recognition, and gyroscopes for stability and orientation. The course culminates in programming the car for fully autonomous navigation, applying all learned skills to solve real-world challenges.
Key Outcomes:
Interpret circuit diagrams and understand the flow of current and voltage.
Apply digital electronics concepts and control circuits using code.
Use sensors to gather data and respond intelligently
Build and program your autonomous car

Preparation: The Summer "Ride Rush" Bootcamp-The last week of the Summer Program
To ensure every student is competition-ready, we will be hosting a Summer Robotics & Coding Camp. This intensive program is specifically designed to bridge the gap between beginner skills and competitive excellence.
Hands-on Training: Students will work directly with the Ridge Rush mats and challenge kits.
Expert Mentorship: Guided by instructors, students will learn advanced programming and mechanical design.
Team Building: The camp is the perfect environment for students to form their 2–3 person teams and begin developing their unique competition strategies.
