zed JAMAICA ROBOTICS CAMP 2025
Zed Jamaica in partnership with Zebra Robotics, proudly present the 2nd Annual Robotics Summer Camp — an educational gateway to integrating robotics into school curricula across Jamaica and potentially the wider Caribbean.
Following the successful inaugural camp, where over 100 students and educators were certified in robotics, we are excited to build on that momentum and continue fostering innovation, critical thinking, and STEM education in the region.
See introductory video of the programme via Nationwide:
Participating schools:
· Hillel Academy
· Jamaica College
· St. Hildas High School
· Bishop Gibson High School for Girls
More schools to come
***Please note that students don’t have to attend any of these schools to register for the program, first come first served.***
About the program
· Return students are welcome for advanced training
· Students who participate in the program will receive a STEM certificate
· Students must have one laptop (Windows 11 OS, Min 8 GB RAM) for each student throughout the four-week session during class.
· Additional Laptop specifications will be given to the student and School in advance, including hardware and software requirements.
· Class participation, in groups and individually, homework, and text/exams are necessary and, therefore, are compulsory.
· In addition to the proven curriculum and coaches, students will use the Zebra Robotics Learning Management System to access the curriculum and challenges. Management will have access to the challenges completed and grades along the way to demonstrate progress to stakeholders including parents and school administrators.
Curriculum:
Programme for new Robotics Students, Level 1: Text Robotics & Navigation 2.0
Students will use Python to programme Spike robots, enabling more sophisticated movement and simple decision-making. In addition, this course digs into Spike components and core concepts like gear ratios, preparing students for possible competition.
